VIC3-4FXS/DID connected directly to POTS?

The way are read description on VIC3-4FXS/DID, is that it can be connected directly to PSTN (with DID support).

Am I correct that essentially this card can act as an FXO as well (and has mechanism in that capacity to understand incoming digits from telco)?

Regards,

Re: VIC3-4FXS/DID connected directly to POTS?

Whit analog DID, normal FXS and FXO roles are reversed.

Customer supplies current loop, CO outpulses digits.

That is why an FXS card can be used for analog DID. It cannot ever be used for normal POTS lines.
