viewmail intermittently will not ring phone??

Unity 5.01 with patch ES44 and TSP 8.21. Unified Messaging with Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703) and viewmail 5.02. Intermittently, users double-click on voicemail message in Outlook and their phone does not ring. Message plays in Outlook but of course they cannot hear it because they have phone set as playback device.

Anybody else experiencing this out there??
