Guys,

Ive searched through and contacted my cisco rep but im still not really getting a clear idea on the topic.

i understand the Uc on UCS thing but i really needed to know if Cisco supports the install on VMWARE in an existing customer environment. My rep advised that vmware alone is not supported however UC on UCS is. its a little confusing so im looking for a little clarification.

basically, i have several customers running VM on thier production network and id also like to take advantage of the virtualization on the CUCM side.

can someone clarify in very simple terms

You've been informed right, we only support UC on UCS right now and many specific requirements.

Supported HW for virtualization is here:

Supported Servers for Releases of Cisco Unified  Communications Manager, Cisco Intercompany Media Engine and Session  Manager Edition

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/ps5748/ps378/prod_brochure0900aecd8062a4f9.html

Deploying Unified Communications on Virtualized Servers

Installing Cisco Unified Communications Manager  on Virtualized Servers

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/virtual/servers.html

You need to meet the requirements from the above link for Cisco to support your deployment. Anything else outside those requirements means it's not supported.
