voice mail access from analog phone/VG224

Hello All,

To access voice mail from an analog phone ie VG224 we have to dial voicemail pilot followed by "*" key, then the server prompt to enter User ID and PIN. Is that possible to configure unity connection to ask directly the PIN?

You did not specify your call control so I will assumed CUCM.

What protocol is used to control the analog device? SCCP, MGCP, SIP or H323?

If SCCP and MGCP all you need to do is assign proper voicemail profile to the DN, and then ensure the extension is the same on UCXN side and it should work just fine.

Yes, using CUCM with SIP trunk.

Cisco phone having the voicemail button and the unity server prompt you to enter the PIN directly when voicemail button is pressed. analog phone doesn't have voicemail button, so we have to dial voicemail pilot number to access VM and have to enter the extension(user ID) and PIN to access the VM.

If you dial voicemail pilot from cisco phone Insteaded of pressing voicemail button again the server will prompt you the enter both extension and PIN.

SO, my exact quesion is, if we dial the voicemail pilot number from any phone can we configure the unity connection to directly ask the PIN? in other word, is that possible to send ext info to unity connection when voicemail pilot is dialed.

Have you configured a subscriber with the same extension as your analog phone?
