voice translation profil under SRST

Hi Group, I am trying to setup translation profile in SRST mode for branch office to solve issue relate to CUEAC, but encounter some problems,  details as following:

  • In CUCM environment, Inbound call to 988 6600 -> voice gateway -  translate to 6600 -> send to CUCM -> match translation-pattern forward to 8000 - 8000 is a route point and forward to CUEAC -- overflow to 2222 (operator ip phone)

  • In SRST,  Inbound call to 988 6600 -> voice gateway – translate to 6600 -> send to phone in SRST mode --  no DN  match,  only 2222 (operator IP phone)  called dropped.

Try to solve the issue, following translation profile created.

Voice translation-rule 8

Rule 1 /6600$/ /2222/

Voice translation-profile SRST2CUEAC

Translate called 8          (or translate redirect-called 8)

Call-manager-fallback

Translation-profile out SRST2CUEAC

Tested with above setting, failed:  In SRST,  Inbound call to 988 6600 -> voice gateway – translate to 6600 -> failed

seem to me inbound call did not reach to stage where it can match the translation profile, disconnection cause code = 38. Any suggestion ?  cheers Roy

Can you send a debug voip ccapi inout and a debug isdn q931 ( I am assuming you are using ISDN) while the router is in SRST?

From the logs, you can see that the call has not been xlated from 6600 to 2222. Can you please attach your sh run..You can also change the direction fo your translation profile under call-manager-fallback to IN

Hi Aokanlawon, you are right the call did not reach to the stage where get chance to match the translation-profile, this is the problem. 

I do have translation profile under SRST set as IN, it works fine. IN is from IP Phone to Router, while in this situation, it is from router to IP phone, which shuld be out. Anyway, I removed the existing IN Translation-profile and add the SRST2CUEAC set IN, and it did not work.   

Now the question is why the 6600 did not match the translation-profile setup in the SRST, is there any other command we can use here to force it to go through the translation-profil before senting it via dial-peer?  Cheers Roy

What you should do is this..

1. configure a new dial-peer tomatch the destination-pattern 6600

2. give it a lower preference value, so that in norml operation calls will go to cucm

3. apply the xlation profile to that dial-peer

eg..

dial-peer voice 100 voip

preference 5

destination-pattern 6600

session-target ipv4:XXXXXX, (where xxxx= ip address of your srst router or loopback interface on that router if you have one)

Translation-profile OUT SRST2CUEAC

no vad

dtmf-relay h245-alpha

The reason the translation profile isnt working is because the translation profile under call-manager-fallback will be apllied to the pseudo dial-peers that are created for your ephones in SRST. Since this call doesnt match any ephone, it wont get applied..

thanks Aokanlawon,  tried again and it did not match the newly created DP with the highest perefence in SRST mode. end up I have to ceate 6600 DN in the operator's phone and assign to an isoliated Partition, when it fall over to SRST in present as an extra dn.  Cheers   Roy
