voice translation rules and voip dialpeers

hello

i'd like to know if you could tell me what is matched first on a voip dial-peer

the destination-pattern or the translation rule. I'm a bit confused This is my scenario

voice translation-rule 2

rule 1 /\(^996\)\(.*\)/ /\2/

voice translation-profile Outgoing
translate called 2

dial-peer voice 9317 voip

translation-profile outgoing Voxitas
huntstop
destination-pattern 99611163171555
voice-class codec 2
session protocol sipv2
session target dns:65.33.11.223
no vad

When i make a test call i see 11163171555 however i don't if the translation rule was applied just before sending the digits to the next hop or if the destination pattern is matched first, then the translation and then the digits are stripped

could you please explain

The destination pattern is matched first. This determines which dial peer will be used. The translation profile is then applied in this case stripping 996. The digits are then sent to the session target device.

Hope this helps.
