**Voice Translations Rules issues with DID´s**

Hi guys,

I´m facing a little trouble with new extensions in the building, we already have 16XX and 17XX with DID starting with 2020XXXX and the problem is that new arriving dependencies  have the same range of ext like 1601,02,1705,1716 and so on. So I suggested to add a 4 at the beggining of the ext to avoid overlap and that means to make translations rules for the new range DID´s starting with 2033"16XX" and 2033"17XX".

I created this:

voice translation-rule 4

rule 1 /^01812033/ /4\4/

rule 2 /^2033/ /4\4/

voice translation-profile DNIS

translate called 4

when i simulate the incoming call looks like this:

Matched with rule 2

Original number: 20331601       Translated number: 41601

Original number type: none      Translated number type: none

Original number plan: none      Translated number plan: none

so i thought that its gonna work  that way and created a dial-peer to hit those new ext (e.g to 41601)

But when I make the calls only get the fast busy tone so made a debug ccapi inout and instead of 4 it is adding a 3

If I use the num-exp 31601 41601 it works fine but then I would have to input every single ext and more coming, about 160.

I am Leaving the gw config for those kind persons that would like to help me and in return I will fully rate you guys.

I guess you are receiving last 5
digits in the first place from your provider, not 4 digits.

im calling from an internal ext (3761) we have 1 gw for outgoing calls and 2 gw´s for incoming, the related config is just for incoming calls but in a failover scenario we should use those gw´s for outgoing.

**Voice Translations Rules issues with DID´s**

I am confused..This is an outbound call...Th trace you have sent shows the call matches voip inboound dial-peer 1. The config you have attached has a pots dial-peer for dial-peer 1..The called num,ber doesnt match what you have configured for the translation rule..Am I missing something

This 2 gw´s have the same config, I created a Route List in CUCM in case of failover to give outbound calls. So that´s why it is configured with pots and dial-peer 1 is for local calls, but honestly i dont know why calls are landing on this one and the weird behaviour of gw. I can give you access from mi pc if you want to resolve the mistery haha

I did it your way and when simulated with the test command  didnt match the rule:

test voice translation-rule 4 20331601

20331601 Didn't match with any of rules

So made some changes:

rule 1 /3\(....\)$/ /4\1/ for last digits and rule 1 /^3\(....\)$/ /4\1/ for axact match but still the same result as the past output in debug.

If I make a different call to another ext (3761) it lands first on dial-peer 1 pots and then 331 for outgoing and this is working just fine :

The above translation rule is to match with numbers staring with 3 like 3xxxx, not for your full DID number. The reason is below.

thanks for your reply ashok,

I leaved the rule as you suggest and made 3 different calls to ext 41601, 3761 and 2461 (2033"1601","3761" and "2461" respectively) so you can see the different dial-peers that are hited.

below is the complete router config and the result of debug.

The problem is "31xxx" is not matching to any dial peer in the first place so not able to route. Can you please apply the following translation rule on inbound dial peer (1) rather than outbound dial peer for 41xxx?

If it still fails, then please try with applying above in incoming direction rather than outgoing. THis should help to get change the called number to 41xxx and then after match with your dial-peer 10.

I did both incoming and outgoing rule profile in dial-peer voice 1 pots and the result is the same just hits it as inbound but doesnt strip the 3 and then fast busy tone so I created the num-exp for all ext starting with 41... and they are working fine just needed to remove the translation rule in that dial peer cause otherway if i leaved right there calls werent landing .

The next thing i need to make sure is that all of them will have outbound calls using this 2 gw´s with this config instead of the one that is doing the job right now.

I do prefer to make translation but users of those new ext already arrived so needed to fulfill service for them.

If you have any suggestion i would be glad to give it a try.
