VoIP lab - what PC spec to build call manager 6

Hi,

I would like to build a CCVP lab (2-3 phones), I have the routers and switches, but don't know what PC or OS would be best to install the CUCM 6 software on.

My questions are:

1. Would it be best to install CUCM 6 on a Windows PC using VMWare?

2. If so, what specification would be recommended and which platform?

Thanks to any responses in advance.

regards

Mark

Hi Mark,

Here is the info for the 6.0 Lab install version (for VMWare);

Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0

Cisco offers a fully functional version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0 licensed for development and test use only at a discounted price of US$547 that covers our costs. This product includes a license for 50 Device License Units, or DLUs. This version of the product runs only on the VMWare Player, which is available as a free download, and this SDK version of Unified Communications Manager comes with no warranties and no promised support.

To purchase this developer version of Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0, please use the link below to go to the Cisco Marketplace page for this SDK product. You will need a credit card to purchase this product.

From this link just click on Cisco Marketplace (towards the bottom of the page :)

I will investigate over the next few days.

Hi Rob,

thank you for this great info from me, too.

Do you also know how find the service in the network (IP address) and how to log in to the system by any chance? I've bought the DVD, but it came without any documentation and I haven't found any online either.

Thanks,

Peter
