Hi,
I have been given a design where we have 2 x 3750TS-E switches at the core and 15 x 3560PS-S switches at the edge. The design is Layer 3 links from the 3750 to the 3560 with dual links, one from Sw1 the other from Sw2, to the gig up links on the 3560 Gig 0/1 & 0/2.
As the 3560 cannot use any kind of routing protocol due to the 3560 being PS-S software, is the following possible -
1. When a VoIP conversation is initiated will the all the packets route over the same gig link as it started?
2. Using static routes on the 3560 with the next hop as the L3 interface, will the switch auto detect if Core Switch 1 failed? It should lose its route and then route out via the other gig link.
Has any one rolled out something similar on their network?
Cheers,
James
