Check out http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm
This will tell you the phone loads you need for CME based on the CME version and IOS code. If you click on the CME version your running you will see the files needed.
Let me know if this helps!

No files are needed except to update firmware.

Thanks Paulo for your reply. And the firmware update. I assume that would be via this link

Hi Gregory,
Downloaded necessary file for 7912 at this stage.Installed as per instructs in html link inside zip file.
Installing this file in the base directory of TFTPD32 folder, I get an error of
Severe. DBConnection0 registry entry not found. Setup will not continue.
This is the TFTP server I am installing the program on connected to router.
Any suggestions please are welcome.
And if Paulo has any suggestions (as he previously has, they're welcome too). Thanks again.

if you have a working CME system, you do not need tftpd32 to update phone firmware.
And as mentioned above, if the phones are working, it is not strictly necessarily need to update them

Paolo is correct however it is a good practice to put the recommended phone firmwar loads onto the flash of the router.
What I use is solar winds tftp server. Extract the zip into the root for this tftp server . You can then use the archive command to extract tar files onto the flash.
You can search for the documentation on this it should be pretty easy to find.

Hi Paulo,
I do have active CME. The listing under network config the is as follows:
1. DHCP
2. Bootp server No
3. MAC address. Same as phone
4. Hostname (same as mac but with letters sep00 preceding)
5.Domain name
6. IP address
7. Subnet mask
8. TFTP server 1
9. Default router
10. DNS server etc
Is the SEP preceding the MAC address normal..been doing lots of reading re this and as am wanting SCCP based for voice gateway

Just set DHCP active and do not worry about the rest.

It is set to active thanks Paulo.
However the phone screen continues to go into a loop and the phone main screen doesnt stabilize with a picture graph?

Make sure phone is correct;y configured in CME.
Take "debug tftp events" with "term mon".
08-12-2013 06:16 AM
Running debug tftp events gives nothing
Run sh telephony-service tftp-bindings..shows this
cme_router#sh telephony-service tftp-bindings
tftp-server system:/its/SEPDEFAULT.cnf
tftp-server system:/its/SEPDEFAULT.cnf alias SEPDefault.cnf

With 7912 and 7960 being the ones I am after but not show properly in tftp bindings output?
Done this..
cme_router#sh ephone summary
Max 2, Registered 0, Unregistered 0, Deceased 0, Sockets 0
ephone_send_packet process switched 0
Max Conferences 4 with 0 active (4 allowed)
Skinny Music On Hold Status
Active MOH clients 0 (max 76), Media Clients 0
No MOH file loaded
Do I perceive that the phones aren't set up?

Yes, probably you have multiple configuration errors.
