Where to connect E&M interface card from router to PBX?

I'm new and trying to learn Cisco IP Telephony. I would like to have our Cisco 37xx with E&M card connect to our Panasonic PBX to enjoy the benefits of VoIP.

I'm a bit confused where should I connect E&M port from my router to our PBX:

1. Should it connect from our router to the trunk port of our PBX or station/extension port of our PBX?

2. If in case I miss-configure our router to use two-wire operation instead of four-wire operation, will it damage the router or PBX?

Another question is up to how many IP phones can I use in a single site deployment before separation for voice and data will be required?

I would like to thank you guys in advance for your replies and patience in reading my post. I know that my questions are very basic but I find it hard to find the answers. Please help. Thanks!

An Ear and Mouth (E&M) interface supports tie-line facilities or signals between telephone switches. You can use the E&M voice interface card (VIC) to integrate VoIP with the legacy voice solution. The E&M VIC connects the Cisco router to a PBX.
