Why is the extension says 30112 in a phone number 14043000112?

My Phone Number is 14043000112. When I checked my extension is 30112 in CUCM. Why is that. Does it have any reason or is it written manually like that?

Hi Devan,

Where do you see 14043000112, have you checked the 'External Phone Number Mask' setting on the Directory Number page?

CUCM is linked to LDAP.

User profile has the phone number as 30112.

Directory number says 14043000112.

Cisco Unity Connection that the extension is 30112 for this user.

I also have a question. I checked the DN and it says \+14043000112. What does \ mean?

Most likely your dial plan is +E.164 and you have translation/transformation patterns in place.

This week there have been 3-4 questions about the usage of \ in patterns, do a quick search, or read the dial plan chapter from SRND where this is explained. E.164 and +E.164 are also explained in the SRND.
