Will a Voice Router behind a Company PBX work.

I have a voice router (2811 with 12.4(6)T Advance IP Services IOS) connected behind a PBX. The PBX uses a 3 digit extension number while the Cisco phones use a 4 digit extension number. Can both work together?? Will this setup work?? (Diagram Attached). Also please find the configuration of the voice router below. All suggestions are welcome, Thanks.

(This setup is only for test purpose and is not the final solution).

Re: Will a Voice Router behind a Company PBX work.

i will assume the numring rang for ur pbx is between 400 to 499

so do the following on ur router

dial-peer voice 1 pots

destination-pattrent 54..

port 0/2/0

forward-digit 3

and make a route pattren on ur callmaneger

with pattren 54XX pointing to ur gateway

try it and let me know

in addetion make

deffrent route pattren for ur analog phone

which is 412

by the way in the above config u didnt put forward-digit 3

in this case after ur router match ur pots dial peer will forward nothing

so put forward digit 3

or u can use the following translation profile in incoming direction with ur dial peer

voice translation-rule 1

rule 1 /^.*\(4..\)/ \\1/

voice translation-profile to-pbx

translate called 1

but this is a bit advanced

so try the forwarddigit option and let me know if worked

Re: Will a Voice Router behind a Company PBX work.

Do you have an example of your dial-plan? We currently have to send all our external calls out our PBX and have the majority of our userbase still on our Nortel PBX and we have no problems.

Your biggest challenge will be if you have an over-lapping dial plan. In my opinion it would be beneficial to set your gateway up as MGCP and have CallManager handle the routing. You can get much more granular very easily.
