Configured Tunnel is not working

Hello,

Please see attached topology and configuration files.

I've configured a "Configured Tunnel" mechanism for IPv6 to IPv4 transition. However, i tried to ping from, for example R3 to R4 and vice versa but is not working. I typed "show ipv6 interface tunnel" and everything is fine.

Please note, R1 and R2 are not configured for IPv6, only IPv4. Also, neither IGP nor static routes configured on the two routers.

I assume that the configured tunnel will reach both destination IPv6 networks but it doesn't happen.

Your response is highly appreciated.

Regards,

AM

Hi,

you must have a route for the IPV4 tunnel destination on each router as they are not on the same subnet.

Regards.

Alain.

Please ignore this post as I found the solution.

Static routes or IGP must be configured anyways.
