IPv6 is stalled

Hi all,

I've just configured an IPv6 address in two interfaces of two different routers connected to the same vlan.

The thing is that I can't ping each other and I see this "IPv6 is stalled" message that seems to be the cause of the problem.  I first thought that it had to do with the link-local address so I configured a new one manually. Sadly the problem still exist.

The funny thing is that the same two routers are also connected through another different vlan, with IPv6 addresses configured in it and it works fine in this different vlan.  Any hint about what might be going on??

IPv6 is stalled

These are the things that upset me the most.

I concluded that since this router is in a peering point (Espanix) someone had to be using my link-local address so I tried to change it several times.

  ROUTESP02(config-if)#ipv6 address FE80::69 link-local
  ROUTESP02(config-if)#
   Mar 15 19:40:26.520: %IPV6_ND-4-DUPLICATE: Duplicate address FE80::69 on Vlan12

ROUTESP02(config-if)#ipv6 address FE80::1276 link-local
ROUTESP02(config-if)#
Mar 15 19:41:23.884: %IPV6_ND-4-DUPLICATE: Duplicate address FE80::1276 on Vlan12

After that I issued the command ipv6 nd dad attempts 0 and everything worked fine.

So it was clear that the problems was ND related.  I activated the following debug: "debug ipv6 nd"  and roll the config back to ipv6 nd dad 1 ( by default).

Looking at the debug messages everything seemed to work so I run the show ipv6 interface vlan 12 command again and ..... now it was Ok!!!!

ROUTESP02#sho ipv6 inter vlan 12

Vlan12 is up, line protocol is up

  IPv6 is enabled, link-local address is FE80::21E:13FF:FEE4:B3C0 ROUTESP02#sho ipv6 inter vlan 12
Vlan12 is up, line protocol is up
  IPv6 is enabled, link-local address is FE80::21E:13FF:FEE4:B3C0

The problem is solved and i don't know what happened.
