What are the Advantages of Mobile IPv6 over Mobile IPv4 ?
I really have a problem sorting out the advantages that IPv6 has over IPv4 when it comes to mobility support. I read that Mobile IPv4 does not support "Route Optimization" and is bound to the suboptimal "Triangle Routing". I read also that IPv4 has found some way to overcome this weakness, but I couldn't find out how.
Moreover, I cannot seem to find out what happens to IPv4 mobility when one or both, the foreign network and the home network, use private addresses. How does mobility work in this case. Are there any extensions to support Mobile IPv4 in the presence of NAT?
If you happen to have further reasons that demonstrate how IPv6 mobility is superior to that supported by IPv4, I would be more than glad!
