Cisco Jabber registration timeout never expires

Hi,

I currently have a setup where a tct profile is configured for iPhone Jabber. This works pretty good and stable. Sadly there are some issues where the registration in CUCM never expires. The device remains registered even when the device is not connected. When the device tries to reconnect it fails because the TCT profile is already registered.

Here are a couple of scenarios:

1.

Jabber is online (on iPhone) and registered (in CUCM)

Close Jabber via the multitask menu on the iPhone

TCT profile remains registered in CUCM

Start Jabber and it will register IM messaging but will not register telephony

2.

Jabber is online (on iPhone) and registered (in CUCM)

Close Jabber via the multitask menu on the iPhone

TCT profile remains registered in CUCM

Keep Jabber closed and the TCT profile remains registered in CUCM

3.

Jabber is online (on iPhone) and registered (in CUCM)

Close Jabber via the multitask menu on the iPhone

TCT profile remains registered in CUCM

Disable wireless on iPhone. The connection between iPhone and CUCM is lost.

TCT profile becomes unregistered in CUCM after a couple of minutes

Enable wireless on iPhone. The connection between iPhone and CUCM is restored.

Start Jabber and it will register IM messaging and telephony

4.

Jabber is online (on iPhone) and registered (in CUCM)

Disable wireless on iPhone. The connection between iPhone and CUCM is lost.

TCT profile becomes unregistered in CUCM instantly

Enable wireless on iPhone. The connection between iPhone and CUCM is restored.

Start Jabber and it will register IM messaging and telephony

Is this a known issue?

In scenarios #1 and #2, does the TCT device ever unregister? At a minimum, I would expect it to unregister once the Register or Keep Alive timer expire.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply once again.

I tried multiple times and left the iPhone on for hours (2 or 3) in scenario 1 and 2 and the TCT profile never unregistered. It only unregistered when I reset the TCT profile.

Edit: Good news. I have configured a different CUCM/CUPS (also version 9 instead of 8) and the TCT profile unregisters immediatly in all scenario's.
