Cisco Jabber status updates according to predefined rota

Hello,

At current workplace we are using a dedicated external calendar indicating person "on-duty".

I would like to know whether there is a dedicated API which we could use (for example with python script) to automatically update jabber status, according to predefined rota, indicating which person is marked as "on-duty".
