import contacts in jabber 9.6.1

so there's an 'import contacts' button on jabber 9.6.1 we're piloting (prod is an older version), it asks for an xml file, so 2 questions.

WHY ON EARTH CAN"T THE XML BE AUTO-GENERATED IN JABBER? you know, have a simple series of contact info to fill out and its done?

2) whats the format of the xml suppose to be? zero docs describing that. Also it be cool to right-click and export contact info as .xml, so I'd have some clue what it needs.

Unfortunately you can't include phone information, at least based on this definition.

Anyone know how to include phone information in the XML import?
