Instant Message address not available for edit

Lab environment

This is my third round of doing fresh clean installs and integrations of IM&P with CUCM.  Both v 9

In this round, I am NOT using LDAP or DNS.  Modified host files on the laptops and put in static entries to CUPS and CUCM servers.

The issue is - I am unable to edit the contacts and add Instant Messaging addresses.  In both Jabber for Windows and in CUPC, the option to enter an IM address is greyed out.

Calls in and out work fine

Are DNS and/LDAP required for Instant Messaging?

- Do you have Jabber for Windows?

- Which is the version?

- Do you have LDAP?

Through Jabber 9.6 you have to integrate CUCM with LDAP with EDI for contact resolution, if you don´t have this you cannot search and add users to Jabber.
