IPhone Jabber not registering

Hello,

I using the jabber for IPone and i when i try to configure the Jabber on IPhone on the setup wizard, when i put the device name and the TFTP address we try to register and fail and i cannot procceed.

I install the COP File and reboot the server

I have licenses to use the Jabber

CUCM 8.6.2

IPHONE 3GS

Latest version of Cisco Jabber

I have connectivity from the iphone to the CUCM and from the CUCM to the IPhone

I tried to use the enable and disable the digest authentication but no success.

Any sugestions?

What is the name of the Device in CUCM?

Are you sure you can ping CUCM TFTP server from iPhone? Are you using WiFi?

Yes i can ping, from the Iphone i can open the the cucm web page.

Alos, ensure there is no firewall between the wireless network and CUCM that would block the TFTP communication.

Hello chris there is no firewall,

On the Iphone appears this message:

"Unable to verify account"

Do you have owner ID and Mobility user ID selected for the device? Is 9768 the user ID?

The only time I recall seeing this error was when in fact communication on port 69 was not opened.

Hello Chris i configured this two settings and doesnt work, from this wireless network i configured one CIPC on my notebook and i can register with CUCM, i have 7921 using this wireless network.

Any sugestions?

Matt iPhone Jabber does not require CSF device it requires TCT device which was already covered before, please read the full thread to see it.

A common issue is that the iPhone is not able to resolve the hostname/fqdn of your CUCM server(s).

If you have your CUCM server(s) defined as hostname/fqdn instead of ip address (System > Server), the config file which the jabber client downloads from the tftp server will contain the addresses of the cucm server(s) as hostnames/fqdn. The client has to resolve those into ip addresses and often this fails as the iPhone is not configured to use the corporate dns server.

Solution :

. make sure the iPhone can resolve the hostname/fqdn of cucm server(s)

. define your cucm server(s) as ip address instead of hostname/fqdn in cucm System > Server.
