Hi
Does jabber 9.2.7 uses Directory UC services on CUCM 9.1 for directory Search?. I have configure but it does not seems to work, data does not show on the "show connection status" of the Cisco Jabber Client.

No, that's explained in the documentation:
Note | Cisco Unified Communications Manager User Data Services (UDS) is not supported for directory integration in this release. |
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/Windows/9_2/JABW_BK_C9731738_00_jabber-windows-install-config/JABW_BK_C9731738_00_jabber-windows-install-config_chapter_010.html
If you wanted that, you should have installed 9.7

Hi Jaime
Thanks for your quick answer.
I am trying to make Jabber search on external ldap directly (As i have done on older versions using the jabber-config.xml file). but on the "show connection status" i don't see the ldap information even though is was configured on CUCM UC services and was added to the user service profile.
The idea is to use the CUCM UC services instead of the jabber-config.xml file....
Other stuff like CCMCIP works.

J4W doesn't use the LDAP UC Service, it has never done so.
Either it gets the LDAP/GC location via SRV records, or you manually configure the parameters in the .xml

I was expecting to get ride of jabber-config.xml file completely but looks like not :(.
5 points to you :)

Have you reviewed the jabber for windows " 9.7" portion of the document this will work in jabber for windows 9.7 if you configure UDS SRV record;which would mean that you can take care of all LDAP configuration from the uc service itself;
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/Windows/9_7/JABW_BK_C4C679C9_00_cisco-jabber-for-windows-97/JABW_BK_C4C679C9_00_cisco-jabber-for-windows-97_chapter_0111.html#CJAB_TK_PBBB1756_00
i have tested this in lab with ldap passing on through the service profile section and we have been able to get it to work.
On the above mentioned link refer to the following section; " Configure Directory Integration in a Service Profile"
For creating UDS SRV here is the link to refer to;
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/Windows/9_7/CJAB_BK_C606D8A9_00_cisco-jabber-dns-configuration-guide.html
So if you do plan to go to jabber for windows 9.7; the requirement is met there.

Hi Ami
The problem is that SRV record is ONLY for discovery services and then downloading the services profiles. Jabber does NOT support the service profile related to directory. The SRV records can be used to retrieve directly the address of the LDAP using (_ldap._msdcs._tcp.domain.com) SRV record. But on either case you have to use to have the XML file for the base OU or filters.

That is what i am trying to say ; for jabber for windows if you select the uc service\ directory to product type as enhanced directory. This should help you achieve the directory profile configuration from the service profile itself. That is exactly what the link above is talking about.
Are you saying that you have already reviewed this document;
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/Windows/9_7/JABW_BK_C4C679C9_00_cisco-jabber-for-windows-97/JABW_BK_C4C679C9_00_cisco-jabber-for-windows-97_chapter_0111.html#CJAB_TK_PBBB1756_00

HI Amit
Non of the directory profiles on CUCM (enhanced or Standard) for Jabber for windows works. I have to use the XML file to make that works. I can use the SRV records but only for getting the ldap IP address not other details or the profile itselft.
Look at the first reply that said that UC directory profiles don't work on jabber.
I did read the document. Do you have an example running that uses the the directory profiles on CUCM for jabber?
Thanks

as far as i tested it in my lab; using the _cisco-uds DNS SRV; i was able to get the EDI directory config work for my test jabber for windows 9.7; without using jabber-config.xml

Did you add for example filters and a different base OU?
