Jabber and Mikrotic Hotspot

Hello Guys,

I greet you all. I am having some challenges with cisco jabber,jabber guest and Mikrotic Hotspot firewall. We are using Mikrotic hotspot server for authentication of users while cisco router routes the packets to the internet.If the hotspot is disabled or the user logs in, there will be two way video/audio.However, if the hotspot is enabled and the user has not logged in, the phone will ring but video and audio not working. I have tried to bypass the ip address of cisco call manager,im and presence,jabber guest but the audio and video will not work. I created a call link on the hotspot page to allow users to click a call link and speak to us but mikrotic hotspot is blocking it

could you assist?

I am assuming that you are using expressway. Make sure the following ports
are allowed.

Thanks for the response.i am not using expressway for now.I am using the
call manager. I have a mikrotic hotspot sitting between the call manager
and the lan users.so this hotspot is kinda of firewall which prevents audio
and video streams.
I have resolved the issue.i bypassed all the udp protocols for each vlan.i
couldn't get the udp port for jabber audio and video.There is no RTP
protocol in the mikrotic hotspot.

Have you tried to work jabber guest version 11.1? I can't see the new
feature which allows guest users to customize their own name

Jabber uses ports UDP 16384 - 32767. From CUCM version 10.5 you can
configure the port range.

I tried this port 16384-32776 with the destination address to be the call
manger ip but it didnt work for me.i guess i should specify destination
address to be "any" with the associated udp port nos.
Thanks i will try it out with the udp ports you specified. In the cucm ,the
default range is 16384-32776 but i will change it to 16384-32777

You did not comment on the issue with the jabber guest

You shouldn't use call manager ip as destination. Call manager doesn't set
in the media path. Its only for signaling. RTP is directly between the
phones.

Regarding jabber guest no i didn't use it but what are you facing exactly

My challenges with jabber guest
1. I can't see the column for customization of caller name for jabber guest
users .i can see it in the jabber guest server admin page

2.is there any way i can run the jabber guest installer offline foe google
chrome? Google chrome redirects me to the Internet. I want a scenario that
when the internet is down,other units can still call the ict unit via the
jabber guest .only the internet explorer is working fine

Hello Mohammed, do you know any cisco collaboration product that can integrate with call manager, im and presence server ,expressway series ,to provide customer to Agent live chat.Jabber guest can provide video chat but not text chat. I came across Remote enterprise mobile yesterday.

I opened the udp media port range, 16834-32767 for cisco jabber in the mikrotic hotspot.its working now.

As for the jabber guest extensions ,i downloaded the .crx file for chrome and .xpi file for firefox. I shared them

on my ftp server .once a user clicks on each of them,it will be downloaded and added to chrome add-on or firefox add-on. 

The challenge now is that the file server is asking for username and password. I don't want the user to type in username and password .i want the user to click the download like and the download will begin automatically. I am using filezilla as the server software. I am thinking of enabling file server in server 2012.
