Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi Guys,

We have a CUCM, CUPS, Unity up and running for Audio/Video, Presence, IM and VM all is running, servers all run a 9 version.

Only problem that we have is the AD directory lookups on the Jabber for Mac 9.2. It works on Jabber Windows 9.2 Even on the Mac version running 8.6.6.

CUCM is AD integrated, and AD settings are pushed out via the created profiles in UC Services.

My AD is a GC so i've tried 389 and 3268 as port both without luck.

When i look in the account prefs of J4M i can only see Phone Services and VM, while on the J4W there are a whole lot of aditional services.

Some Snippets from my log file:

Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi,

your problem is in jabber-config.xml. You have to add BDI directory service type into jabber-config.xml as Jabber for Mac 9.2 gets its directory configuration from the jabber-config.xml file instead of from the profiles in CUCM.

For information on how to configure the jabber-config.xml file, see the following document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/mac/9.2.1/JABM_BK_CB0ACEBC_00_cisco-jabber-for-mac-installation_chapter_010.html#JABM_TP_CD013C7A_00

Hope this helps!

Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi all,

I'm facing some issue with the corporate Directory for Jabber for MAC.

This il my Envirioment:

- Cisco CUCM 9.1

- IM&Presence 9.1

- Jabber For Windows 9.2.6

- Jabber For MAC 9.2.1

I made the jabber-config.xml for the search by UDS and I'd like to have the same behaviour for Jabber fo MAC.

Is it possible to do it?

Thank in advance,

Luca.

Re: Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Yeah, we have about 500 users in an mixed environment and people don't really notice differences between j4w and j4m.

I edited the above xml so it contains both Mac and PC settings all working great now...

I won't be at the office for the next days but if you want I can share my XML next week.

Re: Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi Luca,

I've uploaded my config, please dowload it from here:

http://we.tl/QyfMgLlRls

Upload the xml to your CUCM as jabber-config.xml after upload restart the tftp services.

Drop me a line if you need something else.

Re:Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi Jean-Paul,

thank you for your support.

I tryed to personalize the XML file that you upload but it's still not working.

I'v a question:

If you search in the MAC's Hardisk could you find the jabber-config.xml file?

Should the client download it localy?

BR,

Luca.

Re:Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hi Luca, if i do a spotlight search the xml wont show up.

Might be a miss config in your cucm services...

If you open cisco j4m and go to help > sys diag what do you see in the connections

Jabber for Mac Directory Lookups failing

Hello Lukas,

I have exactly tha same issue. I have an open case with Cisco and it seems that the problem is that the config file is not downloaded by the jabber for mac client.

I did a sniffing and sent it to Cisco. I'm waiting for their analisys.

Have you solved the problem in the meantime?

BR,

Luca
