I have read a couple of posts that clearing chat history in windows Jabber is currently not available. Is there a way to at least turn it off?
We were hit by our legal department today concerning document retention which could jepordise the entire deployment and migration off of OCS.
They would like to have the chat history disabled or deleted after X amount of days or the software needs to be removed.
Thanks

Cant seem to view that link. Found a post that says you can disable by the jabber_config.xml but dont see that on jabber_config tool.

Setting for chat history enable/disable for J4W is still controled by CUPS in Message - Settings.
Didnt think to look there since everything has been jabber_config.xml.
Thanks for the help.

To turn it off for a subset of users, you can add following to the jabber config file:

Since the jabber_config file is coming from TFTP wouldnt that populate to all users?

This is achieved via "Group Configuration Files". Please review the section Cisco Jabber for Windows Configuration of Jabber for Windows admin guide for more information.

Ok this is for CSF device users, which for us does not apply to everyone.
Thanks for the info.
