Hello,
I have these questions?
1. If I have configured Directory UC services and I've assigned them to a Service Profile and then to an user, will it superimpose jabber-config.xml directory configuration?
2. If I have the name of a specific jabber-config.xml configuration file (ex. jabber-specif.xml) in "Cisco Support Field" for J4W, will it superimpose jabber-config.xml?
3. I have this jabber-config.xml directory configuration:
<Directory>
<DirectoryServerType>EDI</DirectoryServerType>
<ConnectionType>1</ConnectionType>
<PrimaryServerName>server1</PrimaryServerName>
<SecondaryServerName>server2</SecondaryServerName>
<ServerPort1>389</ServerPort1>
<ServerPort2>389</ServerPort2>
<UseWindowsCredentials>0</UseWindowsCredentials>
<ConnectionUsername>user</ConnectionUsername>
<ConnectionPassword>password</ConnectionPassword>
<SearchBase1>OU=RRr,DC=exmaple,DC=com</SearchBase1>
<SipUri>mail</SipUri>
<PhotoSource>thumbnailPhoto</PhotoSource>
</Directory>
Is there a way to know from where is my Jabber searching users? (CUCM, AD). Which one of this gets the first in priority: UC service, jabber-config.xml or jabber-specif.xml?
4. Am I able to see pictures in Expressway MRA 8.9 (Android, iPhone, Jabber4W)?
5. I cannot see pictures in my Jabber, Did I missed something in my jabber-config.xml?
Best regards.

1 Yes, UC service has preference over .xml
2 Yes, it will no longer look for jabber-config.xml, but what you configured in the support field
3 See #1 & #2, this only happens for fields that exist in both the .xml and a UC service
4 Yes, assuming you configured it, this will not work automagically
5 Yes, most likely, that will depend on which method you use.

Unless you're using the photo directly from your AD, there is no configuration there to expect the photos to work.

If I don't use the UC service and I use the jabber-config.xml's directory code, it doesn't work neither. Did I forget any line? We have some users with Lync and they, actually, can see the profile picture from the AD.
Thanks for your help.

In which attribute do you have the picture?
I see you're using
<PhotoSource>thumbnailPhoto</PhotoSource>
But do you know for a fact, that's where the picture is?
Have you reviewed the Jabber documentation, and the sections dedicated to Jabber photos?
Have you reviewed a PRT?

Completely sure photos are in thumbnailPhoto AD parameter. Also completely sure this parameter is part of the global catalog (attached file).
I already reviewed Jabber documentation.

Then your next step is to review a PRT to find out if there are any errors there.
