Jabber on BE6K

Hi all,

We just finalized a setup of a BE6K and we cant get jubber to work. We dont have a jabber server but we just need it to use smartphones as CUCM extensions. Has anybody exprerienced something similar in the past?

Jabber voice for iPhone version 9.1.6 and and jabber voice for android ver 9.1.5 are the versions that you need to use with BE 6K.

for jabber voice series for iPhone and Android we donot need presence as they would act like phone mode only.

as I know Jabber Voice for iphone/ipad is now in EoS announcements... What is the roadmap for this feature (phone mode only) on apple platform? It seems that we don't have 'phone mode only' in current Cisco Jabber (9.6.2) on iphone...

Hi,

Cisco Jabber for iPhone is the new version that replace Cisco Jabber Voice, it includes all features, Voice, IM & Presence, Voicemail and Webex but you can use only the voice feature.

I mean that now in Jabber for iPhone we should use CIMP or Webex server to login... just CUCM is not enough. For Jabber Voice it was possible to use it with just CUCM.

Hi,

Yes you only can login through IM & Presence or Webex service, so if you only need your extension you can use other options like a sip phone application on the smartphone or desktop, media5 phone for example.

What si your CUCM version? From version 9 IM & Presence is free but the licensing model is different to previous versions.
