Jabber on windows - no sound when using my pc for phone calls

Did anyone encouter the folowing problem:

When making or receiving calls using the jabber windows client I cannot hear any sound - I can hear the tones of the keypad presses, even the dial tone, but not the other side. The other side has no trouble hearing me.

I am using the latest version of jabber client (11.1.0 build 21135)

I have a windows machine inside a vmware on a linux ubuntu host.

Jabber is only supported on a handful of virtual environments due to VXME requirements

Other virtual environment may have issues with audio due to VXME Client/Agent not properly installed. This will impact

Jabber needs especial plugin (comes iwith Cisco VXME) (called "Virtual Channel") to propage audio from guest to host machine
