Jabber on windows - no sound when using my pc for phone calls

Did anyone encouter the folowing problem:

When making or receiving calls using the jabber windows client I cannot hear any sound - I can hear the tones of the keypad presses, even the dial tone, but not the other side. The other side has no trouble hearing me.

I am using the latest version of jabber client (11.1.0 build 21135)

I have a windows machine inside a vmware on a linux ubuntu host.

Can you please check if your virtual setup meets the following criteria:

You can deploy Cisco Jabber for Windows in virtual environments using Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp:

Citrix XenDesktop 7.1, 7.5, and7.6
Citrix XenApp 7.5, and7.6 Enterprise Edition for Windows 2008 R2 64-bit, published desktop
VMWare Horizon View 5.2, 5.3, and 6.0
If not, then it is an unsupported deployment. If yes, then you may check by calling internally between two jabber clients on the same network and see if the issue persists.
