Jabber Softphone Audio Video Calls with VDI Solution

Hello Everyone,

We have a VDI Solution based on RDP Protocol. My question is Jabber Soft Phone for Windows can make Video and Audio Calls from Clients.

Hi Mohammed,

Jabber for windows is supported on some virtualized platforms like Citrix, thin client etc.  In virtualized environment Cisco VXME is the engine which makes it work. The VXME makes sure that the media flows local between thin clients instead of sending it to the data center together with the signalling. The signalling is sent towards the Call Manager and the VDI server in the data center.

Thanks for you reply Aseem. As i know VMware View and Citrix are not using Microsft RDP Protocol. About Citrix I am not sure but VMware View is using PCoIP.

Yes, you are correct, VMWare is using PCoIP. Cisco Virtualization Experience Client 6215 does support both PCoIP and RDP.

Thanks Aseem,

We have already thin clients from Wyse. Cisco VXC 6215 is a thin client. I can't replace almost 3000 Thin Client. I Think Cisco Jabber Doesn't work with VDI Solution using RDP Protocol.
