When using Jabber, can all sounds be muted when placing or receiving a call?

In Windows, in Control Panel > Sound . Communications it says Windows can automatically adjust the volume when you are using yoru PC to place or receive telephone calls. This doesnt seem to be working with Jabber, is there an alternate solution?
