Jabber Video replaced Jabber Video Telepresense???

How do we get both of these applications installed on the same computer.

Jabber Video Telepresense - VCSe regerstation (Work)

Jabber Video (Free) - Cisco regerstation (Home use)

is there any solution to have 2 configuration profiles that would allow the same app to share both duties?

Thanks in Advance.

Jabber Video replaced Jabber Video Telepresense???

Hi Tim,

There isn't a need to install both at the same time.

You should use the version provided for you by your company. That is managed by your companies infrastructure and will provide a much better conferencing experiance.

The service provided on ciscojabbervideo.com is for anybody who doesn't have a TelePresence endpoint already. It's a quick and easy way to get an account. If you send them an invite, then your corporate video address will be listed as their first contact when they download the client.

The good news is that it doesn't matter which version you use as both version have (mostly) the same capabilities. The free version has some preconfigured defaults to make invitees first experiance with TelePresence quick and easy.

Your company's version is setup to make use of technologies such as FindMe, Multiway and Expressway.

Jabber Video replaced Jabber Video Telepresense???

Thanks for the replay.

The problem is how is a Corp user that installs the ciscojabbervideo download going to keep using the Movi(Jabber Telepresence) when the installer overwrites and merges the settings that the user had inplace.  Cisco should consider a different path or application name so, if a user somehow gets to the ciscojabbervideo client and installs it over the Movi(Jabber Telepresence) client this does not cause a support call to me.  The best option would be to have connection profiles that would let a user save and create different logins and settings for different providers like Movi(Jabber Telepresence)(companyA), Movi(Jabber Telepresence)(companyB) and ciscojabbervideo.  If the application had this support and was already installed the ciscojabbervideo installer could check that the version was correct and simply add a new profile for the free service, and leave the existing customer settings inplace for there other account.

This is just a thought and would be a great option for the client in a future release.  We have this problem today as we have two different deplyments of Movi(Jabber Telepresence) one is out Corp internal that will not and never will be accassible from outside the enterprise network and our Demo deploment that we use on the outside of the enterprise.  Today we have to keep notepad notes of the settings for each of the different systems, it would be great if we could just select the profile that we want to connect to from a list and the correct settings would be used for each of the profiles.

Just a thought as i see the current application installer from ciscojabbervideo causing tech support calls because it wipes out the already installed settings and the user can not edit the setting to correct the problem.

Thanks in Advance.

Tim
