100 Mb ethernet

hi every body!

let say two host h1 and h2 are connected fast ethernet full duplex.

h1tx-------------------rxh2

rx-------------------tx

where tx is transmitter

rx is receiver

The maximum number of bits which could theortically pass over fast ethernet is 100 mega

my question is does this 100 mega include bits from both directions i.e rx and tx? or 100 Mega means 100 mega bits can travel on each direction per second?

thanks a lot!

Full duplex means both transmit and receive can operate at the same time so 100Mb FD is 100Mb in both directions.

Half Duplex means you can only transmit or receive at the same time so 100Mb in one direction only.
