Why would Cisco not include the rack mount kit? I find it insulting that I bought an expensive product and now I need to scramble to find a part that should be there. Cisco don't treat your customers this way!
Because the 1921 is intended for very small SOHO deployments. It only has a sustained throughput rating of 15 Mbps. You typically would not be using a rack in a deployment that small, you would just stick it on a desk or a shelf.
Some folks do use it for other things though, which is why they made the rack mount kit. It's a separate item because it is not typical to need it.
