1G SFP on 4507 SUP8-E uplinks

Hi,

I have a SUP8-E on a WS-C4507R+E chassis. According to documentation, the uplink ports does support 1G/10G SFPs. I plugged in 1G SFP but why does it still showing "TenGigabitethernet" when you "show run" or "show interface". Is there any special configuration that needs to be done?

Thanks in advance!!

Mike

Hi,

If you check the sh interface output which can show you the settings of 1g limitations..... it will not reflect in configs.... since that interface is capable to handle 10G but you are limiting it to 1G.

It is something like setting a speed 100 in a 1 G capable interface..... :)

Regards

Karthik
