Hello,

I have a Juniper server plugged into a Layer2 switch on vlan100 on my dmz and this works ok.  Now i want to plug in an internet mail server onto that layer2 switch but in vlan193.  However when i do a no shut on vlan193, vlan 100 goes into shutdown state.

Is their anyway of keeping both vlans working.  i have attched some of the layer2 switch code.

The address of the Alexander server is this

192.168.193.140

255.255.255.128

192.168.193.129

regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Layer two switches can have only one SVI interface basically used for management purpose,I would suggest you can have layer 3 switch or router for intervlan routing between the vlans.

Check out the below link for inter vlan routing configuration

Hope to Help !!

Configure the port as a dot1Q trunk and allow the VLANs of your choice.
