2948G OS?

I have an old 2948G with 48 10/100 and 2 fiber ports. I cant seem to find any direct reference to any software for it. I am curious if I can migrate it to IOS or at least update the os.

Re: 2948G OS?

Hi Friend,

This switch cannot be upgraded to IOS but for sure you can upgrade to the latest CATOS which is 8.2GLX

Also the CATOS for this switch goes on the same train with base image of CAT4000 switch.

Just check this link and you can read the release notes for the same

Re: 2948G OS?

This was a good switch , it is catos only and runs catalyst 4000 code . You can either use the latest in the 8.X train or use 7.6.12 or above (latest is like 7.6.18 I think) in the 7.X train which is considered "general deployment" code .
