Hii,

Can someone suggest me how to download a cisco ios image from 2950 switch to use the same on another switch with the software being used.

first you need to set a TFTP server. Then set the path in TFTP where you want to download IOS.

Once TFTP is set, you can give command "copy flash: tftp:" on switch from where you want to copy IOS. This will copy IOS in flash: to TFTP server.

Once flash is copied in TFTP, then you can upload this IOS to another switch using "copy tftp: flash:" command on the switch where you want to copy this IOS.

I think on the 2950 it is like "tftp-server flash: on the switch you want to transfer from . On the 2950 you want to download to "copy tftp flash:" , it will ask where you want to get it from (other 2950 address , then the name of the file .
