Hi Tarek,
2950 is EOL now but the last IOS which was release for 2950 was 12.1(22)EA11.
You need a CCO login to download the image. You can download this image from

Hi Tarek,
There were no new features introduced in this particular release but when you upgrade from your release to this one all new features which got introduced in middle releases will be available to you.
But this release will be having lots of resolved caveats. You can have a look at the release notes
You can click on NEW FEATURES and RESOLVED CAVEATS so have a look
On the other hand this link has the link for all the release notes for different release for 2950 switch and you can click on any release note link to see the new feature introduced and resolved caveats in that particular release.

Hi Tarek,
No it does not and it should not also. Upgrades do not make switch erase config but yes downgrade can.
But on a safer side I always take a backup of configuration while doing upgrade or downgrade and I will advice you also to do the same.

Hi Ankur,
Thanks for your reply.
is there any paper where it describes the difference between the two versions ? I am new to this stuff and would like to know if the upgrade will provide new features.
Thanks.

Hi Ankur,
Thanks once again.
one last question, does upgrading the switch software erases its configuration ?
