2960 and simple VLAN traffice

I have a 2960 that is connected to a NetGear router for cable modem access. The netgear gives out IP addresses. I have a WAP with two SSIDs. One ID is PUBLIC and tagged as VLAN 8. The other is PRIVATE and untagged. I can get the untagged SID to connect and get IPs from the netgear. I can get the tagged SID to connect to the WAP, but not getting IPs. I am not sure how to configure the ports on the 2960.

Are you trunking from the 2960 to the netgear ? Is the netgear router capabale of trunking and supporting dhcp from multiple subnets ?

I have the port that the Netgear and WAP on set to "switchport mode trunk".

I have updated my diagram to show what I need to happen. Based on what SSID a user attaches to with there laptop, they have access to the corporate lan or public internet access. I cannot get the ports on the switch to allow this to happen. What needs to be set to get it to work.
