Hi Guys,

I have two new 2948-48 switches that I need to setup. I am just looking for some advice on setting them up. I want to connect both switches together via cat5 and use one of the gig ports on each switch, then connect one of the gig ports on one of them to the layer 3 switch. Does sound right? Also both switches are in the same vlan.

Thanks for any info.

Friend

I would suggest connecting the switches seperately on the L3 switch using the Gig ports.

this would reduce the spanning tree hop as well as the oversubscription ratio on the uplinks
