2960S and Cross-stack etherchannel

Hi,

I was originally planning on implementing STP to provide resiliency to the core switches, but after more thought I decided etherchannels would be a better approach.

Will the cross-stack port channel work with the 2960 switches in the attached image?  Or would I need to upgrade the core to 3750X's for it to work?

I understand I need to ensure all ports targeted for the EtherChannel are either configured for LACP or are manually configured to be in the channel group.

Thank you in advance for any advise.

Regards,

S

Hi,

You design will work fine as long as your 2960s switches are stack able (I think they are). If they are not then you can use 3750x or 3850 series switches.

Indeed I agree with Reza, 2960S are stackable boxes. So you should be good to go.

RS.
