Hello everyone,
I recently replaced a couple of 2960G switches by 2960X (primarily WS-C2960X-48FPD-L). When trying to configure some ip sla operations, I noticed that the neccessary commands aren't available:
SW-048-015(config)#ip sla ?
key-chain Use MD5 Authentication for IP SLAs Control Messages
responder Enable IP SLAs Responder
What i'm used to from 2960G and 2960S models is:
SW-048-012(config)#ip sla ?
<1-2147483647> Entry Number
enable Enable Event Notifications
group Group Configuration or Group Scheduling
key-chain Use MD5 Authentication for IP SLAs Control Messages
logging Enable Syslog
low-memory Configure Low Water Memory Mark
reaction-configuration IP SLAs Reaction-Configuration
reaction-trigger IP SLAs Trigger Assignment
reset IP SLAs Reset
responder Enable IP SLAs Responder
restart Restart An Active Entry
schedule Entry Scheduling
So does anyone have an idea, why I cannot configure ip sla operations anymore?
Additional details that might be of relevance:

Period left: 0 minute 0 second
Index 2 Feature: lanbase
Period left: Life time
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Priority: Medium
License Count: Non-Counted
So I do have a LAN Base license which should theretically support ip sla (as stated in feature navigator). I have tried several IOS images without success. Currently, I'm running c2960x-universalk9-mz.150-2.EX5.bin.
Thanks in advance for any hints...

Hey,
I checked and found that 2960X with LAN BASE supports IP SLA responder operations only.
HTH.

Thanks for your reply,
well this info kind of 'helps'. Nonetheless I wonder why the feature navigator claims that several ip sla operations are supported. So I wonder where you checked?

Just for fun I just upgraded a 2960S (WS-C2960S-24PD-L) from 15.0-1.SE3 to 15.2-2.E and...
surprise: the ip sla features are gone as well. So this is obviously not an issue specific to 2960X models.

Indeed with the IOS train.

Any idea whether there are plans to add these features again in later releases?

As per my knowledge this feature is now supported on Cat3k devices.
