I have c3508G switches connecting several clusters of 2950T switches. the 3508s are hard set at 1000 meg speed. we are constanting building discard errors and performance stinks. this is happening at several sites throughout our network.
Hi, sound like someone has configured QOS and packets are being dropped because they dont meet the standards. are they being discarded on ingress or egress? there are different reason a frame is dropped coming in versus going out. Or the numbered of frames queued exceed the links maximum count could be you are exceeding the CIR. Bad LMI frames are discarded also, I would suggest looking closely at the link config on both ends, check you CIR and any QOS queuing limits. check out the link belows
