3550 - DMZ - VPN - Vlans?

Hello,

I have a need in a small office to set up a VPN. I'm going to use openvpn.

My plan is to forward requests for openvpn through a linksys home router to the vpn server.

I currently have a 3550 switch with several vlans basically server and clients.

I'm done something like this before but using a "regular" router. When I've done it before the vpn server sat in a dmz and then there was an interface on the LAN side. I don't have the budget for any more kit so just have to use what I have.

Looking at the attached diagram can I create a DMZ with a 3550 switch? Am I any better of security wise trying to do that?

Thanks,

CJ
