3560X not switching to PoE+ 30W

Quick question, I have a Cisco 3560X series 48 port PoE switch which im using to try to power a Axis Q6032E PoE+ PTZ camera that requires 25W of power. Although when I plug the camera into the switch it power as PoE Class 4 but will only assign the port 15.4W of power. I have tried going into the switch and manaually assigning the port to 30W of power but no luck. I have talked with the Axis vendor and they stated that Cisco does not turn on 802.3at protocol by default? This does not seem correct. I am running a single 1100W power supply as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated. See output below. Gi0/43 is port in question.

Solved. Enabled LLDP on switch. Device negotoated power to 22.4W. Working fine

Does the 3560X support 30W without LLDP or CDP?

I have a IEEE PD that is being detected by the switch as a Class 4 device, but it does not support LLDP or CDP. Cannot get beyond 15.4W on the port in auto detect mode, even with LLDP and CDP being disabled.

Can anyone please help explain this behaviour of the switch?

Just a FYI to close some loops as well. In some cases, depending on how many ports you are using, you may need two power supplies.

The Catalyst 3750-X and 3560-X switches have two power supplies per system, allowing the power load to be split between them. This accommodates the increased maximum power of 30 watts per port provided to a powered device to meet the PoE+ standard (802.3at). With PoE+, a 48-port system would need 1440 Watts to provide 30 Watts per powered device for the PoE ports. Systems with fewer powered devices might require only one power supply. In this case, the additional power supply can provide one-to-one redundancy for the active supply.

The maximum UPOE budget available on the Cisco Catalyst 3750-X/3560-X switch is 1800W per switch. This requires the 1100W AC power supply in both the power supply slots. 1800W in POE budget makes sure that the 24-port models support full UPOE on all ports (24 x 60W/port = 1440W) and the 48-port models support up to 30 UPOE connections (30 x 60W/port = 1800W) per switch.

Thanks for your message. As you can see from my initial post, the 15.4W output is coming with just one PoE+ IEEE Class 4 device connected to the 3560X switch. Do we still need two power supplies in such a case?

In this case, I wouldn't believe so no. However, you may need a larger one. I wasn't sure what you had. Have you tried turning off auto, and just doing power inline static on that port?

I have the same issue, my testing PD could get PoE+ power from other PSE. I wish to know how to turn off the auto, and focred 3560 output 30W.

Yes, I tried. In forced mode, the switch delivers 30W.

My question was how to get 30W from a 3560X in auto mode even when LLDP and CDP is switched off. The switch is detecting a Class 4 device. So why is it not giving 30W, even when just one POE+ device is connected?

Can you paste the 'show power inline' here. I want to see how much is available, used, etc.

I have put the screen dump in my August 03 post. But I will capture once again and post it. We are conducting compatability testing so are using only one device on the switch right now, so very frankly, I cannot see us overloading the port, let alone the switch at all.
