3750 12.2(40)SE Support for ip bootp server command

I have 3750s w/12.2(40)SE installed (ADVIP Svcs)

and the (ip bootp server) command does not exist.

I have downloaded the configuration guide for this

rel. and Appendix D. has the list of unsupported commands

and it is not there.

I have used the command lookup tool and it is not there.

I am just trying to find the formal Cisco documentation

stating clearly the details on why this command has been

de-introduced (at least in this code train).

Release Notes does even provide any insight at all as well.

I surmised that possibly it was dependent on whether

"ip routing" was enabled or not. Did not matter.

If anyone can provide an explanation or point me to

the docs it would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,

Hi James,

The command isn't supported in the 3750 switches (same as 3560). I can't find any documentation supporting this fact but I tested on several 3750s with IOS ranging from 12.2(25)SE to 12.2(46)SE.

However, the command was available on the 6500 switch - very strange.

As for the 3750 switch, you can achieve the same level of security by disabling service dhcp

Edison.

Edison,

Yes I am aware that. I just thought it was extremely bizarre. Well thank you for this quick reply.
