Hello,

I  have a 3750-48P when plugged in has fans that spin up, but no lights on the front of the chassis.  Does this mean the power supply is bad?  If its bad, why do the fans power up?

Also, i am not receiving any data through the console.

Accidently marked the original question as answered, started a new discussion

Thanks,

Mike

It may be that the power supply can provide enough power to the fan but not enough to the ports

If you have service contract RMA it

Can you console into the appliance?

Nope.

Then you have a DEAD appliance.  Please contact Cisco TAC to get the appliance RMA-ed.

Can you be more descriptive on what may be dead.  I dont believe the chassis is covered under SMARTnet at this time.  is the Chassis dead or just the power supply?

The device is coming up on EOL, so we may just be replacing the chassis if we cannot get it to work.  Its basically a backup that only gets used a few times a year now, we pushed another one into production in the meantime.

Thanks!

Can you be more descriptive on what may be dead.

No I can't because I don't work for Cisco nor am I an electrical engineer.

The device is coming up on EOL,

No it's not.  It's end-of-sale but it's definitely NOT end-of-life.
