Hello,I recommend you start

Hello,

I recommend you start by capturing the 'show process cpu sorted | ex 0.0' output.  The output will look something like :

Router#sh proc cpu sorted | ex 0.0

CPU utilization for five seconds: 85%/83%.

The first number (85%) refers to the total CPU utilization at the moment.  The second number (83%) refers to how much CPU utilization is interrupt-driven.  If the difference between the first and second number is small the high CPU may be interrupt-based.  The difference also identifies the amount of CPU used by software processes.
