3750 IOS Upgrade

Hi All,

I have just upgraded from 12.1(14)EA1 to 12.2(35)SE.

Now, the bootloader in IOS 12.1(14)EA1 was 12.1(11r)AX.

The technote for the latest IOS 12.2(35)SE states the bootloader will be upgraded. It has not in my case, it remains at 12.1(11r)AX.

What should I do? The switch has booted up fine no problems, but I would like to have the latest boot loader.

I upgraded using CLI.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

The documentation is not very clear on this issue but your bootloader was in fact upgraded.

The bootloader upgrade process does not require a full bootloader upgrade - only a small section of the bootloader code needs to be overwritten - that is why the bootloader version did not change on your switch after the upgrade.

Unfortunately there is no way to upgrade to the latest bootloader in the field from what you already have on there now. The same bootloader code which is put onto to the switch in the factory stays with it.

Hope this helps,

Michael
